1. In what way does ICT enhance learning and teaching?
  • facilitate instructions and learning process
  • promotes learner- centered approach
  • promotes international collaboration and networking in education
  • provide more flexible and effective ways for lifelong professional Development for today's teachers
  • offer varieties of tools to cope with the challenging life and work in the 21st century.
  • offer many opportuity for pupils to learn independently and use of language creatively
  • offer varieties of approaches to motivate learners and to maximise impact on learning.
  • a key to increase the engagement of learners of all level.
  • promotes the stimulus of creative and interactive work.
  • to faciliate learners with ICT skills.
  • introduces different usage and function that link with ICT (internet, printing, presentation, etc).

2. How should you use a computer in the primary classroom setting?
  • For very young children, computers should only be one of many activities that they can explore.
  • The software should be interactive or discovery based but suitable for the primary level of learners.
  • Show young learners basic ICT operations
  • Provide hands-on experience opportunities
  • Teachers should link to Bloom's Taxonomy Literacy development as our guidelines for task activities, projects and assessments

  • Computers are used to do a learning activity in a new and creative way or to do a learning activity that is possible only with the help of technology.
  • Computers are used as a tool for learning and not as technology for technology's sake. That is, students are not sent to a lab just so that it can be said that technology is being used.
  • Computers are used in a way that allows all students to complete the task successfully, independently, and in the time allotted.
  • Computers are used in a way that accommodates students' varied developmental levels and needs.

Description:
A leaf can be defined as a plant-organ above the ground. A typical leaf is laminar and thin and the main function of the leaves is photosynthesis. A leaf cell contains chloroplast that is exposed to light to initiate the process of photosynthesis. Other important functionalities include storage of food and water.

There are many kinds of leaves. The plants and trees could be identified if you are able to identify different kinds leaves and their pattern of arrangement on the stem.

Question:
Can you identify them and write simple descriptions of each plant included in the above photo?

This topic is included in Biology lesson for year 10 (secondary level) under the theme: Plants - Flora and Fauna
